Decks & Gazebos Page — FAQ Copy

What's the difference between a prefab, portable, and pre-built deck?

You shouldn't have to call three companies to find out what a deck costs. Full price list below — free delivery across the Indy metro included.

How is the deck delivered? Will it fit in my backyard?

Your deck arrives fully built and our delivery partner sets it exactly where you want it. Most backyards are no problem — when you get your quote, we'll ask a few questions about gate widths and access to make sure delivery day goes smooth.

Do I need a permit?

Freestanding structures often have different (and simpler) permit requirements than attached decks, but rules vary by county and HOA across the Indy metro. We're glad to point you in the right direction for your specific area — just ask.

Can I see one before I buy?

Yes, please do! We keep full-size show decks at our shop so you can walk on one, check the railing styles, and see the build quality up close before you order.

Do I need to prep my yard first?

Reasonably level ground is the main thing. We'll talk through your site when you order, and options like cable anchors are available if your situation calls for them.

What's the difference between a standard and elevated deck?

Standard decks sit low to the ground — perfect for patios, fire pits, and above-ground pools. Elevated decks rise up to 36" (higher available as an option) to meet your door height — ideal for back doors, mobile homes, and raised entries.

Can I put one next to my above-ground pool?

Yes — it's one of the most popular uses. Ask about the swimming pool cut option, which shapes the deck to fit snug against your pool wall.

Will this work for my mobile or manufactured home?

Absolutely. Elevated decks are a favorite for manufactured homes — they meet your door height without attaching anything to the home's structure.

Why does freestanding matter?

Nothing bolts into your house. That means no holes in your siding, no risk of water intrusion where a ledger board would go, no added weight on your home's structure — and it works beautifully with brick, stone, or oddly-shaped homes.

Why does freestanding matter?

Treated lumber, Amish-built in Indiana, with stain protection. Want zero maintenance? Upgrade to Trex composite decking and vinyl railing and skip staining forever.

Can I pick my stain color?

Ask us about current color options when you get your quote — and if you're going Trex and vinyl, you'll choose those colors too.

How much does a pre-built deck cost?

Our full price list is published right on this page — no phone calls required. Standard decks start at $820, elevated decks at $1,280, and gazebos at $3,250, with rent-to-own plans that bring most sizes under a few hundred a month.

How does rent-to-own work?

Pick a 24, 36, or 48-month term, and your deck or gazebo is delivered just the same. Pay it off early anytime. Ask us for the details when you get your quote.

How long until my deck is delivered?

Ask us for current lead times when you order — and remember, delivery day itself takes just hours, not weeks.

Can I take it with me if I move?

That's the beauty of freestanding — your deck isn't permanently attached to anything. Ask us about relocation when the time comes.

Are these really Amish-built?

Yes — every deck and gazebo is Amish-built in Indiana. Come walk on our show decks and see the craftsmanship for yourself.

Do you deliver to my area?

We deliver free within 50 miles of our Indianapolis-area shop — that covers Carmel, Fishers, Zionsville, Noblesville, Westfield, Greenwood, Brownsburg, Plainfield, and everywhere in between.
